Plastering over artex ?

The usual procedure is as below.

1- scrape off any thicker and spikey artex patterns as much as possible.
2- Paint it with BOND-IT
3 - let it dry
4 - apply a thin coat of bonding to flatten the ceiling
5 - let it go off
6 - skim as normal.

Some times, depending on circumstances, other ways can be used such as, plasterboarding on top of artex then skim, or just bonding on top of artex then skim.
